A Supplier That Understands Construction

We are not a boutique retail shop selling one board at a time. We are a professional lumber supplier with the inventory, logistics, and technical expertise to support contractors and builders on projects of every scale. From a single accent wall to a full commercial build-out, our contractor program is designed to make reclaimed lumber as easy to specify and install as any conventional material.

We know what matters to contractors: reliable availability, fair pricing, on-time delivery, accurate material takeoffs, and technical support when something does not go as planned. We also know that your reputation is on the line with every project, which is why we stand behind the quality and grading of every board we sell. If it does not meet spec, we replace it. Period.

Our contractor program is free to join and offers immediate benefits including wholesale pricing, credit terms, priority delivery, and access to our technical support team. We treat our contractors as long-term partners, not one-time customers, because that is how the best business relationships work.

Our contractor pricing is structured to protect your margins. Once approved, you receive wholesale rates that are 15-25% below our retail pricing on all reclaimed lumber products. We publish a quarterly wholesale price list to approved contractors, so you can bid with confidence knowing your material costs are locked in.

Installation Guides for Contractors

Reclaimed lumber requires specific installation techniques. These guides cover the most common applications and the critical details that ensure a successful result.

Reclaimed Flooring Installation

Reclaimed hardwood flooring requires specific techniques that differ from new flooring installation. Boards must be acclimated to the job site for a minimum of 7-10 days. Moisture content should be within 2% of the subfloor reading. Tongue-and-groove reclaimed flooring may have slight dimensional variations that require dry-fitting and sorting before installation. We recommend face-nailing with cut nails for an authentic look, or blind-nailing for a clean appearance. Expansion gaps of 1/2 inch at walls are critical. Sand to 120 grit and finish with oil-based polyurethane for the deepest color and grain enhancement.

Reclaimed Beam Installation

Structural reclaimed beams must be evaluated by a licensed structural engineer before installation in load-bearing applications. Visual grading determines the allowable stress values for the beam based on species, grade, and defect profile. Connection details for reclaimed timber are often different from modern lumber -- traditional mortise-and-tenon, through-bolted steel plates, and custom steel brackets are common. For decorative beams, we can provide hollow beam boxes that deliver the visual impact of solid timber at a fraction of the weight, making installation significantly easier.

Accent Wall Installation

Reclaimed accent walls can be installed over drywall using construction adhesive and 18-gauge brad nails. Start from the bottom and work up, using a level every 4-5 courses to maintain alignment. Rip boards to random widths between 3 inches and 8 inches for the most visually dynamic result. Use a mix of board tones -- light, medium, and dark -- distributed randomly to avoid clustering. Leave 1/8 inch gaps between boards for a shadow line effect, or butt them tight for a solid wall look. Pre-finish boards on sawhorses before installation for the cleanest result.

Reclaimed Wood in Wet Environments

Bathrooms, kitchens, and outdoor applications require rot-resistant species: cypress, white oak, cedar, or ipe. All surfaces must be sealed with marine-grade or exterior-grade finish. In direct-contact applications (shower walls, outdoor ground contact), ensure adequate drainage, ventilation, and re-sealing protocols. Never install reclaimed wood directly against a moisture source without a vapor barrier. For bathroom accent walls, maintain a minimum 6 inches of clearance from shower spray zones and ensure bathroom ventilation meets code minimums.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions from Contractors

How do I apply for a contractor account?

Contact us by phone or through our website with your business name, license number (if applicable), and a brief description of your typical project scope. We will set up your account within 48 hours and provide your wholesale pricing immediately. No minimum order requirement to open an account.

Can I visit your yard to hand-select material?

Absolutely. Contractor accounts receive priority access to our inventory yard. Schedule a visit during business hours, and we will have your account manager available to walk the yard with you. Many contractors prefer to hand-select reclaimed stock for feature elements like bar tops, mantels, and table slabs.

Do you offer custom milling for contractors?

Yes. Our milling services include ripping, planing, resawing, tongue-and-groove profiling, shiplap profiling, and custom dimensioning. Milling is priced per board foot and added to your material cost. Turnaround for milling is typically 3-5 business days depending on volume.

What if a client wants a species or size you do not have in stock?

We maintain a network of salvage and reclaimed lumber sources across the Southeast. If we do not have a specific species or dimension in stock, we can usually source it within 2-4 weeks. We will provide a firm quote and timeline before committing, so you can communicate accurately to your client.

How do you handle returns or quality issues?

We stand behind every board we sell. If material does not meet the agreed-upon grade specifications, we replace it at no cost. Returns of unused, undamaged material are accepted within 30 days for a full credit to your account. We would rather resolve an issue quickly than lose a long-term contractor relationship.

Can you provide material certifications for LEED or green building projects?

Yes. We provide documentation including chain-of-custody records, salvage source verification, landfill diversion calculations, and recycled content certificates. These documents support LEED MR credits for Materials Reuse and Recycled Content. We have experience with LEED documentation requirements and can assist with submittal preparation.

Why Contractors Choose Us

What Sets Our Contractor Program Apart

No Minimum Orders

Need 50 board feet for a mantel? Fine. Need 5,000 for a commercial fit-out? Also fine. We do not penalize small orders or require minimums to access contractor pricing.

Same-Day Pickup

In-stock items can be pulled and ready for pickup within 2 hours of your call. Our yard is organized by species, grade, and dimension for fast, efficient loading.

Honest Grading

We grade conservatively. If we call it Select, it is Select. If we call it Character Grade, that is exactly what you will receive. No surprises when you open the delivery on site.

Problem Solving

When something goes sideways -- and on construction projects, it always does -- we pick up the phone and solve the problem. Rush replacements, alternative species, creative solutions. That is what partners do.
