Your Design Vision, Our Material Expertise

Reclaimed lumber is one of the most powerful materials in a designer's palette. It brings warmth, history, texture, and sustainability to any project -- residential or commercial. But specifying reclaimed wood is different from specifying standard building materials. Availability varies, dimensions are not always standardized, and the unique character of each board means that selection and quality control require expert guidance.

That is exactly what our trade program provides. We partner with interior designers, architects, and landscape architects across the Gulf South to deliver reclaimed lumber that meets the highest design standards. Our team speaks your language -- we understand specification sheets, material submittals, construction timelines, and the critical importance of getting the material right the first time.

Whether you are designing a residential kitchen renovation or a 200-room hotel, our trade program gives you access to a curated inventory of reclaimed species and grades, custom milling capabilities, professional specification support, and a collaborative relationship that enhances your work and simplifies your process.

Trade Program

What Our Trade Program Includes

Every element of our trade program is designed to make specifying and sourcing reclaimed lumber as seamless as possible for design professionals.

01

Sample Program

Specifying reclaimed wood without seeing and touching it is impossible. Our sample program gives you physical material that you can share with clients, present at design reviews, and use for color matching with other finishes in your palette. We understand that design is a tactile process, and our samples are sized and finished to convey the true character of each species and grade.

  • Complimentary sample kits with up to 6 species and 3 finish options per project
  • Full-size sample boards (12" x 6") that show true grain, color, and character -- not tiny swatches
  • Custom sample boards finished to your specification for client presentations
  • Sample boards labeled with species, grade, provenance, and pricing for client reference
  • Rush sample kits available with 48-hour turnaround for time-sensitive presentations
  • Return and exchange program -- swap samples as your design direction evolves
02

Specification Sheets

Our specification sheets are designed for professional use in construction documents. Each sheet includes the technical data architects and engineers need: species properties, dimensional tolerances, moisture content ranges, finish options, fire ratings, structural properties, and installation requirements. These documents are formatted for inclusion in project manuals and can be customized with your project-specific requirements.

  • Technical specification sheets for every product in our catalog
  • Janka hardness, density, modulus of elasticity, and flame spread data by species
  • Dimensional tolerances for reclaimed products (which differ from new lumber standards)
  • Finish specification data including VOC content, sheen levels, and recoat intervals
  • CSI-formatted specifications ready for inclusion in project manuals (Division 06)
  • Custom specifications written to your project requirements on request
03

Material Libraries

We maintain a curated material library that design professionals can access for ongoing project reference. Our library includes physical samples, digital photography, and technical documentation for every species, grade, and finish option we offer. For firms that maintain their own material libraries, we provide labeled samples on a regular rotation as new salvage sources bring new species and character profiles into our inventory.

  • Physical material library available at our showroom for in-person review
  • Digital material library with high-resolution photography and technical data
  • Labeled samples provided for your firm's internal material library
  • Quarterly updates as new species and salvage sources become available
  • BIM and Revit material files for digital integration into your design workflow
  • Color-matched material boards assembled for specific projects on request
04

Custom Milling

Design intent should never be compromised by material limitations. Our milling capabilities allow us to produce reclaimed lumber in virtually any profile, dimension, and finish that your design requires. From standard tongue-and-groove and shiplap to custom molding profiles, curved cuts, and specialty dimensioning, we mill to your specifications with the precision that architectural-quality work demands.

  • Custom dimensioning to any width, thickness, and length within material constraints
  • Tongue-and-groove, shiplap, V-groove, and custom edge profiles
  • Molding profiles milled from reclaimed lumber to match historical details
  • Resawing thick beams into thinner boards for wall cladding and ceiling applications
  • Precision planing to specified thicknesses with +/- 1/32" tolerance
  • Wire brushing, skip planing, and texture treatments for controlled character
05

Trade Discounts

Our trade program provides meaningful discounts that protect your project budgets and your client relationships. Trade pricing is available on all reclaimed lumber products, milling services, and finishing. Applications

How Designers & Architects Use Reclaimed Wood

From residential interiors to commercial build-outs and exterior architectural applications, reclaimed lumber serves design professionals across every project type.

Residential Interior Design

Feature Walls & Ceiling Treatments

Reclaimed wood accent walls and ceiling applications are the most requested residential design element. We offer boards in a range of species, widths, and finishes -- from wire-brushed heart pine to smooth-planed white oak -- giving you full control over the visual texture and tone. Specify mixed widths for dynamic compositions or uniform boards for a more refined look.

Kitchen & Bath Design

Open shelving, range hood wraps, island tops, vanity counters, and mirror surrounds in reclaimed wood add warmth to kitchens and bathrooms designed with hard surfaces like stone, tile, and metal. We help you select species and finishes appropriate for moisture exposure, ensuring beauty and durability coexist.

Custom Furniture & Millwork

Dining tables, mantels, floating shelves, built-in cabinetry, and stair treads from reclaimed lumber become signature design elements. We can mill reclaimed stock to match historical molding profiles for renovation projects or create clean, contemporary profiles for modern interiors.

Commercial & Hospitality Design

Restaurant & Bar Interiors

Bar tops, feature walls, table tops, host stands, and ceiling treatments that create the authentic, tactile environments diners crave. We provide material at commercial scale with commercial-grade finishes that withstand the demands of food service environments. Our team handles fire code, health department, and accessibility requirements.

Hotel & Resort Design

Lobby features, guest room headboard walls, spa interiors, restaurant spaces, and outdoor amenity areas. Reclaimed wood creates a sense of place that connects guests to the region. We support hospitality projects with large-volume supply, phased delivery, and brand-consistent material selection across multiple rooms and spaces.

Office & Retail Environments

Reception areas, conference rooms, co-working spaces, retail fixtures, and employee amenity areas. Reclaimed wood in commercial interiors supports LEED certification, corporate sustainability goals, and employee wellbeing initiatives. We provide documentation for sustainability reporting and green building submittals.

Architectural Applications

Exterior Cladding & Siding

Reclaimed wood siding and rain screen systems create facades with depth and authenticity that new wood and synthetic products cannot match. We supply weather-resistant species -- cypress, cedar, white oak -- in profiles suitable for exterior application, with guidance on detailing, fastening, and finishing for long-term exterior performance.

Structural Timber & Heavy Timber

Exposed structural beams, columns, trusses, and timber frame elements from reclaimed old-growth timber. We work with structural engineers to provide graded, documented timber that meets building code requirements for structural applications. Reclaimed heavy timber adds both structural performance and unmatched visual character.

Landscape & Hardscape

Pergolas, arbors, fencing, decking, retaining walls, and site furnishings from reclaimed lumber. Outdoor applications require careful species selection -- we guide architects toward naturally durable species and appropriate treatment and finishing protocols for ground contact, above-grade, and covered applications.

Our Process

How We Work with Design Professionals

Our process is designed to integrate with your workflow, not disrupt it. Here is how a typical engagement unfolds from initial concept through project completion.

01

Concept & Schematic Design

We meet to discuss your design intent, review inspiration images, and identify species and finish directions that align with your vision. We provide initial samples and ballpark pricing so you can present reclaimed wood options to your client with confidence during the schematic phase.

02

Design Development

As the design solidifies, we refine material selections with custom samples finished to your exact specification. We provide specification sheets formatted for inclusion in your drawing set and project manual. Material budgets are updated with accurate quantities from your developing drawings.

03

Construction Documents

We finalize specifications, provide CSI-formatted spec sections, and confirm pricing and lead times for the material quantities shown in your CD set. If your project requires fire-rated or structurally graded reclaimed timber, we coordinate testing and documentation during this phase.

04

Bidding & Procurement

We work with the general contractor or owner to finalize orders, establish delivery schedules, and lock pricing. For projects going through competitive bidding, we are available to answer bidder questions and provide substitution evaluations if alternate materials are proposed.

05

Construction Administration

During construction, we deliver material per the agreed schedule, provide on-site consultations for the installation team, resolve material questions as they arise, and coordinate any additional orders or change orders. We remain available through substantial completion.

06

Project Completion & Documentation

After installation, we arrange professional photography of the completed project. Images are shared with your firm for portfolio use, and the project is featured in our portfolio with full design credit. We provide maintenance guides and warranty documentation for the owner.

Design Palette

Most Specified Species for Design Projects

These are the species our designer partners specify most frequently, along with the design contexts where each performs best.

Reclaimed Heart Pine

Tone

Warm amber to deep reddish-brown

Character

Tight old-growth grain, nail holes, saw marks from antique circular and band saws

Best For

Flooring, accent walls, mantels, table tops, ceiling beams

Design Note

The quintessential New Orleans reclaimed species. Pairs beautifully with white marble, brass fixtures, and deep-toned fabrics.

Reclaimed Cypress

Tone

Honey blonde to warm brown with silver-gray weathered surfaces

Character

Tight grain, natural oil sheen, distinctive pecky patterns in some boards

Best For

Bar tops, exterior cladding, bathroom applications, outdoor furniture

Design Note

Exceptional moisture resistance makes it the first choice for wet environments. Pecky cypress is highly prized for its unique texture.

Reclaimed White Oak

Tone

Light tan to warm golden brown

Character

Prominent ray fleck patterns, dense tight grain, mineral streaks

Best For

Flooring, cabinetry, furniture, architectural millwork

Design Note

The most versatile design species. Works in traditional, transitional, and contemporary contexts. Takes stain exceptionally well.

Reclaimed Barn Wood (Mixed)

Tone

Silver-gray weathered surfaces with varied undertones

Character

Maximum weathering, nail holes, saw marks, paint remnants, and hardware marks

Best For

Accent walls, ceiling treatments, furniture, decorative elements

Design Note

Delivers the most dramatic visual character. Best used selectively as a feature rather than floor-to-ceiling to avoid overwhelming a space.

Reclaimed American Chestnut

Tone

Warm brown with subtle reddish undertones

Character

Worm tracks, fine grain, exceptional warmth and depth

Best For

Feature furniture, mantels, museum-quality installations

Design Note

The rarest and most storied reclaimed species. American chestnut was functionally extinct by the 1950s, making reclaimed the only source.

Reclaimed Douglas Fir

Tone

Salmon pink to reddish-orange, darkening with age

Character

Dramatic vertical grain, large tight knots, bold color

Best For

Exposed beams, timber framing, feature walls, furniture

Design Note

Delivers visual warmth and bold character. Old-growth reclaimed Douglas fir has grain density that modern fir cannot approach.
